At Stone Dimensions, investing in the right equipment is one of the most important ways we invest in our people, our process, and the quality we deliver on every project. Our latest shop upgrade is a big one, and we are excited to introduce our new Paladin CNC stone mill.

This machine represents a major step forward in efficiency, reliability, and long-term serviceability. While some systems feel familiar to our team, nearly everything about this mill was designed to improve how we fabricate stone every day.
Familiar Where It Matters
Upgrading to the Paladin CNC mill builds on technology we already know and trust. Both our previous CNC mill and the Paladin use FANUC motion controllers along with Alpha CAM programming software—industry leaders in CNC motion and programming. Our team already has hands-on experience with these systems, which reduces the need for extensive training and allows for a smooth transition into production.
Think of it like getting into a new vehicle. The body might look different, and performance may be enhanced, but the pedals are still where you expect them to be.

The milling table is similar in size to our previous machine, and the Paladin uses the same tools and tool holders. That means we can move our existing tooling directly onto the new mill without rebuilding everything from scratch. On top of that, the Paladin offers roughly 25% more tool holders, giving us greater flexibility and fewer tool changes during complex jobs.
Built by Technicians for Fabricators
The Paladin is designed by technicians who understand what fabricators need on the shop floor. This is not a machine built to impress visually. It is built to perform, and that utilitarian philosophy shows in every detail.

Maintenance is one of the biggest challenges of keeping a CNC stone mill running efficiently long term. The Paladin includes a maintenance minder system that removes human error from the equation. Based on runtime and uptime, the machine tells operators exactly what requires attention, directly on the screen, in a simple and clear format.
The mill also features an automated oil reservoir system that continuously applies lubrication to key components. This reduces daily maintenance tasks, prevents costly oversights, and keeps the mill running smoothly.
When service is required, the open and accessible design makes repairs, replacements, and adjustments much easier. Nearly every component is reachable, which means faster service, reduced downtime, and more time spent fabricating instead of troubleshooting.
Strong Partnerships Behind the Upgrade

Corey and Scott attended TISE in Las Vegas, where they met in person with our partners from BBM and spent time with the team behind the Paladin. From day one, BBM has been an incredible partner throughout this process.
Their team has been responsive, knowledgeable, and transparent at every stage—from early planning to execution. That level of communication made this shop upgrade feel collaborative rather than transactional.
Having trusted partners who understand our workflow and expectations gives us confidence not only in the machine, but in the long-term success of this investment.
Looking Ahead with the Paladin CNC Stone Mill
The Paladin CNC stone mill represents a significant leap in technology, efficiency, and precision at Stone Dimensions. This upgrade expands our capabilities, improves consistency, and supports a production environment designed to keep work moving smoothly and reliably.
As a future-focused stone fabrication shop, we prioritize smart investments that elevate both our process and our people. The Paladin was chosen not only for what it can do today but also for how it positions us for continued growth, innovation, and scalability.
We are excited to put this advanced CNC technology into action and allow its performance to define its impact. This shop upgrade reinforces our commitment to staying ahead of the curve, embracing advanced solutions, and partnering with teams that share our vision for the future of stone fabrication.

This was a really interesting look at the Paladin CNC mill, i didn’t realize how powerful and heavy-duty these machines actually are until reading this, especially considering that stone fabrication equipment like the Paladin can weigh around 24,000 pounds and is built with a solid steel frame to handle precision cutting and polishing for materials like granite or quartz countertops. It’s impressive how technology like CNC routers can automate complex tasks such as shaping, profiling and polishing stone while maintaining consistent accuracy, which must save a huge amount of manual labor in fabrication shops. Reading technical posts like this also reminds me how challenging it can be to explain detailed processes clearly when writing essays or coursework because there’s usually…
